Our Photography Tours

We offer daytime and evening tours in LeidenThe Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam

Our tours are friendly, informative and informal. You will see the main sites of interest and other more unusual aspects. You will learn about the history and culture.

We will also take you to the best photo opportunities, and we will offer individual coaching, tips and advise to create memorable photographs of your visit, and improve your camera skills and technique.

The trips cater for all experiences and skills from beginner to expert. We will even hire you a DSLR camera or tripod should you wish.

Each city has its own unique character and charm. We will also suggest things to do and see, plus tips on where to eat.

If you are based in one of these cities, then you are ideally placed for one of our Photo Tours. If you are based in Amsterdam (or elsewhere), the cities are easily reachable by train.

What makes our tours unique

  • The group is small, with a maximum of six people, so each participant gets individual attention and advice
  • The group is led by an experienced photographer with intimate local knowledge
  • You will visit the most interesting sites and buildings, and hear in-depth information about their history and significance
  • You will also visit more unusual locations away from the main tourist areas which offer splendid photo opportunities
  • We want you to take away fantastic memories of the magnificent city, as well as fantastic photographs
  • Start times and duration

    Daytime

All our daytime tours are 3 hours.

    Morning tours start at 11:00.

    Afternoon tours start at 14:30.

    Start time and duration

    Evening

All our evening tours are 3 hours. The start time depends on the date, because there is a huge difference in sunset time between 21 December (16:30) and 21 June (22:00).

Evening tours are designed to take advantage of the golden hour, starting about an hour before sunset to half an hour after, and the blue hour, the hour following the golden hour.

For the evening tours we recommend you to use a tripod and camera remote control for best results.

    Welcome to Dutch Photo Trek

    Bad weather

The weather in the Netherlands can be unpredictable, especially in Autumn and Winter.

But it seldom rains the for whole day. If the rain is torrential the workshop will be cancelled, but if it is not heavy the tour will go on regardless.

Photographers are hardy folks, and stormy skies and wet pavements present some of the most exciting photo opportunities!

    Cancellation policy

But whatever the weather, you may cancel up to 1 day before for a full refund.

And if you are not satisfied with the tour for any reason we will also refund your money in full.
